Even today, the Fête des Vendanges of Barr is considered to be the biggest and best grape harvest festival in the East of France. In a single day, the wine capital of the Alsace of Bas-Rhin attracts over 16,000 visitors. On the Friday evening, the Queen and her Dauphines are elected during a gala dinner. Saturday is devoted to a flea market, a night procession and a gala concert, and Sunday sees imaginations run wild with the much-awaited flower parade when local associations hope to win a prize for best float! Throughout the festivities, you can enjoy traditional dishes washed down with wines ranging from vin nouveau to the best vintages.
As usual, there'll be a flower parade, flea market and music.
