Pinot Blanc barrique 1988 - Paul Blanck
A golden-yellow, very pure colour with a beautiful sparkle. The nose is fragrant, delicate with notes of honey, dried flowers and a discreet roasted edge. The palate is dry, concentrated with a fine acidity, finishing on a slightly bitter note. The finesse of this vintage year, combined with the precision of a cuvée 100% Auxerrois, produced a cuvée which evolves very well over time and is perfect for mealtimes. (Last tasted in April, 2008)
Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergbieten Muscat 1988 - Frédéric Mochel
The Ottonel Muscat produced on the Grands Crus are very often wines with long keeping potential, especially adapted for fresh vintage years like 1988 with the quick ripeness. Today this Altenberg de Bergbieten is in a secondary phase with beautiful aromas of star-fruit, dry mint, exotic fruits and smoky notes. Well structured, direct when it hits the mouth, good concentration with an aromatic and clean finish. A ripe wine which will be a great table companion for seafood, just like the Riesling from the same cru. (Last tasted in April, 2010)
